|
- Challenge:
This five-story structure has no less than 18 lifts forming the basis of all training and teaching activities among 43,000 Schindler employees worldwide. Highest reliability and efficiency was required for the network installation supporting all aspects of training operations and manage-ment, and to interconnect to a campus-wide network with high levels of reassignments among staff. The customer required first-class installation.
- Solution:
By searching for quality and product performance Schindler decided on the R& Mfreenet System, its comprehensive range encompassing all aspects of the network installation. To achieve flawless and trouble-free operations, emphasis was put on planning and first-class installation. Two certified R&M partners were trusted the task of planning (Herzog Kull Group) and installation (CKW Conex AG).
The newly built training center was laid out with fiber optic vertical cabling and links to the company-wide campus network. Cat. 6 Star Real10 STP was employed for horizontal cabling, allowing for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. 48 port panels supporting use of RMS splitters, allowing one link to carry four physical telephone connections.
- Result:
A network system comfortably meeting requirements of first-class installation quality, high reliability and flexibility. Fulfilling the target of stability and maintain ability underpins the technical training activities of installation and safety engineers servicing Schindler products throughout the world. 900 million people are transported every day by human transport systems from Schindler.
